Post Ontario Counties/Districts Challenge
I am planning on going after the northern portion (north of Hwy. 17 and Lakehead areas) of this challenge - http://coord.info/GC2B1PF - within the next couple of weeks, and am looking for some company and someone to share the expenses of fuel and accommodations. Since I have a part-time job on Saturday afternoons, I would have to leave the Bradford/Barrie area on a Sunday morning and be back by Friday night or Saturday noon at the latest.
By my calculations it is a 5 - 6 day roundtrip of 8 hours driving time. This still leaves a little time for some basic caching along the way, of primarily low level D & T caches close to the highway, just enough to complete the requirements for the challenge.
Is anyone up for the road trip? Contact me through my profile if you are interested. I would have to complete it by the end of July due to commitments in early August.

Northern as in Kenora? or Northern as in Sault Ste. Marie?

I plan on doing the loop over the top of Ontario to gather all 10 Districts. You don't need to go all of the way to Kenora. You can get to Thunder Bay in 2 days via either Hwy. 11 or 17, and then in one day go north on Hwy. 17 across the District Line into Kenora District just west of English River, drop down to Hwy. 11 west of Atikokan to get Rainy River District, and back to T.Bay. From there, you come back home via Hwy. 11 or 17 to complete the circle. A lot of driving for a few caches, but that's what cachers do best.

I wish I could go, too, but we're headed East to get some provinces and states.

For those who had wished that they could have come along, you missed a great week of beautiful weather and scenery. No daytime rain until I got near Sudbury and again around Parry Sound on my way home last night.
I was able to complete all of the northern Districts, as well as circling Lake Superior's west and south shores bewteen Thunder bay area and the Soo. I even "dropped down" the 40 miles to Lake Michigan to grab a couple of caches for the Great Lakes Challenge campaign medal.
Almost 4000 km (1150 km. yesterday alone) in 5 days, plus 46 caches, so I wasn't sitting around.
