January 5/6 weekend

Puddlemaster and I are heading out on the 5th, not certain where yet, might be Lindsay, might be another area.

Also, that weekend, if I'm good (read, as in allowed to go :D ), I'm hoping to do a double header, and would like to head to either Cobourg or further east (Trenton/Quinte) on the Sunday.

Either day, if someone wants to join in, let me know, and we'll see what we can come up with.

I'm going to be caching south of Borden and into Orangeville over the next 2 nights, possibly the "other side" of the lake tomorrow night. I plan on starting between 1430 and 1500 both nights, and back by midnight tonight and whenever I decide to finish tomorrow night. Anyone interested can get back to me here before 1300 today and I'll set-up a meeting. I prefer to car pool to save on gas.

Bring your snowshoes and lots of coffee money.

Update: I'm heading out much earlier today, sometime right after lunch.

Due to overuse of Holiday foodstuffs I have immediate need of venturing out on Snowshoe to do a couple of caches that may take some effort. I would like to do "maybeadip" and "The call of the wild" tommorrow. My hope is that there will be at least one person as interested in doing some insane (semi) spontaneous snowshoeing as I.

Round trip on the shoes would likely be about 5 or 6 Km if we can get close enough on the fire road to the cache.

I would like to leave Orillia about 6 AM or so for a 8:30 AM (or so) start. This woud be good practice for anyone considering the KBW series and Buzzard Lake located just North of these caches.

By 10PM tonight I would like to be able to say I am or am not going to go for this one.

I have several sets of snowshoes for anyone who is interested in trying this but has no shoes.

Anybody else up for hike?

Due to the magic of the internet. I have 2 repies so that means the trip to Maybeadip tomorrow is a go. If anyone has some last second ideas to do something crazy, please come join us. We will be at the "First Nation" cache near Burleigh Falls arround 8:15 to 8:30 AM. Meet us there.

Crew at this point is dgas71, HF Reign, and me.

Thanks

Thanks to dgas71 and HF Reign for responding to my request for company on such short notice. The hike was awesome but unsuccessful, I loved it. Too bad others did not come along although I understand that maybe there was to be an attempt to do some caches in the area on Monday? Good luck and have fun.

Cheers and thanks again... KSAcat

Hey Raptor the "snowshoe cache bash"... is this a planned event, do you have something in mind? I will likely be going up to Katrine to help celebrate the 300th cache placed in the Parry Sound District and would be interested in doing some shoeing up there. The event is on the 12th at 4PM in KAtrine at the community Centre. Lots of caches I have not done yet up there and a few would likely be good for shoeing to.

Congrats Monterry on placing the 300th Parry Sound District cache.

Cheers de KSAcat

Hi HF: RE Parry Sound District's 300th cache placement AWARD in KAtrine.
This is not a posted event but it is planned and open to all interested paties to attend.

The thread started on the OGA forums in the events section...

http://forums.ontgeocaching.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=50

Details are in the thread on the Jan 05 post by Team Magic.

Not sur if I am going yet or not but I am thinking it might be fun. Too bad most of the snow is gone as the snowshoeing will be very soggy,

OK folks! I don't know what is going on with the proposed snowshoe events for saturday with the weather change but...

I would like to hit the kleinburg area and do some multi's...specifically burnt offerings gcj37d and the cubic resistance series gc14vxa. There is a decent trad there as well I want to do..short cut to the old cabin or something...and that should be good but if there is a drive by...
well you all know how it goes.

so saturday, morning..kleinburg multi's anyone...the guy would appreciate not being dragged out!

I've been an on again, off again cacher over the years. I tend to find people in my life that are interested, and when their enthusiasm fades, I end up doing a couple solo, then fizzling out myself. I have a partner who is interested in geocaching now, and I don't see her interest fading any time soon. The problem is that she's not local currently, so I need to find some people around the Barrie area to get out with. Some caching alone is ok, but I really do prefer company. I'm up for any amount of hiking, even some driving if need be, to get to cache sites.

Looking forward to meeting new cachers, and re-introducing myself to the fine people I met in the past.

One of the best ways to meet your fellow cachers is by attending our monthly COG events. This Thursday there is a pub night in Orillia. This one is going to be quite intimate and will give you a good opportunity to chat. Log your Will Attend at
