COG Spring Fling!

In the begining, there was Fling, and it was good. No evidence remains of this historic fling (as it was held in a Provincial park) but there are 80 or so people who still recall this monumental occasion. Team woods was taught the ways of fire, and how to coook meat upon it, swifteroo invented a wheel for his Hundi from spare rocks and wood. A great thing was started that day, and has since grown and flourished!

The fling was haphazard and ill-planned, but went off without any complaints. The process was now in motion.. COG had discovered events, and the world would soon tremble with anticipation of the next one.

2nd Annual COG Spring Fling

As COG became more enlightened and grew through the ages, superstition led the group south to sunnier pastures in the scanlon creek conservation area. A rudimentry committee was set up to organize the days events, and plan giveaways and prizes.

First of many devious Tomtec Hides

Permanent caches could now be placed on the premises without fear or reprisal from land-owners, and devious temporary caches began being placed by the committee for the day. A bartering system for Prize tickets was created, often requiring participation in events and caches to enter lotteries for prizes.

Competition for local caches was fierce, having almost doubled attendance from the previous event. It became quite evident that COG had grown too large for it's parkette events, and needed a larger Venue. The committee decided that even more organization and planning would be needed if COG Fling's were to survive..

COG Spring Fling III - The Trilogy

More effective GPS'rs and governing bodies brought a golden age to COG. Tiffin opened welcomed the hordes and gave to them free reign of the trails and terrain of the area. Forest enclaves were cut and cleared to make way for overnight villages of tent-folk, and workers were hired to maintain infrastructure during the period of Fling.

Permanent caches were placed throughout the park

Caches were hidden around the park, both permanent and temporary with careful planning. Events ran throughout the day and in various placements around the park. The area given to COG was more then it could use, giving people a choice about how to move throughout the day. The freedom given to the participants was welcomed, and the people rejoiced.

Karaoke ensued much to the horror of onlookers

Supplimentry events were planned before and after Fling to appease the masses. The Pre-Fling-Wing-Ding, and the Apres-Fling had become staples of the Flinger diet. Singing and dancing became common place, and the hamburgers were arguably some of the best in human history.

COG Spring Fling IV

With the invention of the Wherigo, and assembly line style ticket sales, A new age of efficiency and high demand ushered COG into its fourth large event. Attendance peaked at over 300 working class members, and further efficiency led to huge increases in free time availiable to the proletariate.
test
A new age of cooperation and understanding

Great works of fiction, and high quality cache placements were created, as well as great strides in the Cacher's creed. A new age of cooperation and inspiration lifted cachers to new ideas, such as night caches with laser beams, and the hope that perhaps someday Ontario will break the barrier of Mega-less cache events!
test
New technological advances led to higher quality
caches, and different cache varieties

With cachers new found freedoms and liberties, new ideas spread forth, and interesting offshoots began to take shape. A new age of reason, and equality began to spread forth, and the start of a new age had begun.
