Some Attributes
BIKING
Tiffin is a large place. Bring your bike! Please do not for any reason leave the trails with your bike though. Terrain for the most part is flat and sandy. Tiffins trails are fantastic for biking activities!
PETS
Bring your Pets! Dogs, Cats, Grackles, or Turtles! There will be lots of other pets at the fling, please ensure yours is not the cause of any problems. Clean up after your pets, and ensure they are leashed if they act inappropriately around wildlife.
CAMPING
There is a large camping area at the fling, suitable for a few hundred people camping. Fires are allowed in designated fire pits only! Trailers are allowed but the woodland trails are tricky to navigate - parking overnight in the parking lot is also recommended.
STARGAZING
Tiffin is quite forested, but lies adjascent to a Hydro Corridor that is well protected from city lights. If you have a telescope, or just like to sit under the stars join us just east of the campground! (at night of course). It will be a full moon by the way, so bring your werewolf repellant.
FOOD
The Spring Fling has the best burgers in the history of the universe. We will also be selling Hotdogs, pop and water. You do not need to purchase food, feel free to bring your own, but please ensure you clean up afterwards.
WATER
Bring your own waterbottles and we will be happy to refill them for you! Bottled water is also sold onsite
WILDLIFE
Wildlife is rather abundant at Tiffin, please be aware that this is deer birthing season, and baby deer might be hiding in nearby bushes. If you hear word of a baby deer nearby please let SF volunteers know, and keep dogs out of the area.
PARKING
We will have lots of parking - although there might be a few that need to park at the conservation entrance or along the main-way. Please carpool if possible, its good for the environment and your pocketbook!
TRAILS
Tiffin conservation area is over 500 acres with trails at various points. A trail map will be included with your welcome package. Additional trails exist along the hydro corridor, and through adjoining Simcoe County Forests. We will do our best to ensure the trail maps have details of all relevant trails that will be used for the day.
ALCOHOL
Tiffin conservation area does not allow alcohol on the premises - please keep this a family friendly event!
FACILITIES
We have rented for the day 2 Pavillions, and a large conference hall that should house everyone in case of *gulp* rain. There are washroom facilities set up around the conservation area, and additional port-a-toilets will be set up as well.
MUSIC
If you play an instrument, bring it along! There will be an impromptu jam around the fireside the night of the fling. No music players or loud speakers!
